Potential buyers of the Apple Vision Pro may need to endure a long sales presentation, which includes a 25-minute in-store tutorial on utilizing the headset.

The Apple Vision Pro will be released on February 2 at various Apple Store locations throughout the United States. Although customers may anticipate a lengthy appointment for the $3,499 hardware purchase, it is probable that the procedure will take even longer than initially expected.

According to Mark Gurman's "Power On" newsletter for Bloomberg on Sunday, Apple has arranged a comprehensive presentation of the headset for customers, with a duration of up to 25 minutes. This training was conducted for several store employees in Cupertino in early January, who then shared their knowledge with their coworkers at their stores.

In order to manage the expected number of appointments for the Apple Vision Pro, several demo units will be accessible at any given time in some of Apple's biggest stores.

Prior to the demonstration, an employee will utilize an application to scan the user's facial features in a manner comparable to configuring Face ID. The application will inform the staff member of the appropriate light seal, foam cushion, and band size to accommodate the customer's head and face.

In addition, the user's glasses will undergo a scan to ensure that the correct prescription lenses are inserted into the headset, if the user wears glasses. The collected data will then be relayed to a worker in a separate room to construct the demo unit.

Next, the employee will demonstrate the customer's interaction with the user interface. This includes using eye detection and gestures to make selections, proper handling of the headset, adjusting the Fit Dial, and utilizing the Digital Crown. Throughout the demonstration, the employee will utilize an iPad to view the user's perspective.

Following a period of calibration involving exercises such as tracking and tapping, the demonstration, which lasts for 20 to 25 minutes, will commence.

In the demonstration, individuals will access the Photos application, leading to the viewing of Spatial Photos and Spatial Videos. This will be followed by a presentation showcasing the capabilities of Apple Vision Pro as a potential replacement for Mac or iPad. This will include the ability to position multiple app windows in a 3D environment and scroll through web pages on Safari.

A variety of 3D and immersive films will be presented, including footage of exotic animals and an underwater view, as well as sports clips and a perspective from a high wire.

In addition, the headsets available in-store will come with pre-installed third-party applications, providing customers with a better understanding of the headset's capabilities.

The process of buying the headset will be different. Once the face scan is complete, the retail staff will gather the necessary components and package them at the point of purchase.

Despite encouraging customers to physically visit a store to test the headset, the option to purchase the Apple Vision Pro online will still be available. Online customers will receive a version of the face scan system before the headsets are delivered to them.

In addition to the demonstration areas, attendees will have the opportunity to view a dedicated Vision Pro table, although it will not be accessible for use. The table will showcase between two to four units.

As a precautionary measure, Apple's extensive showcase could be an attempt to minimize risk with the release of their new flagship product and platform. Given its expensive price and the likelihood that this will be the first experience for many consumers with a virtual or mixed reality headset, this is a critical moment for Apple as they strive for success in paving the way for the future of the Apple Vision Pro.
